May not be a Land Cruiser jack. In the mid-50's Toyota produced the Toyopet Masterline pickup, designated RR16, like the jack part number, RR16-91100. Similar jacks are rated 1 ton.

in 62, it would still have an rk30 part number on the jack and while it is a tight fit, it does fit in the toolbox.

no clue where that came from

Hello Jad... good to see post from you again... miss the cool pics you post :)

Remember your friends 62 fj40 was a CKD from toyota to REO-Mexico

REO Mexico was the importer of the Toyota Land Cruisers as CKD's (Knock-down kit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) the same way toyota brazil has started out... getting CKD kits from Toyota

They contracted with Toyota 08/28/1960 and kits were being sent in december of that year. Sales started in september of 1961.

the jack uses the Toyota's early parts numbering system

see link: https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj25-owners-group/489554-early-toyota-parts-numbering-system-etpns.html

From what we have found part numbers start with the first vehicle that they start a new part on. The jack which came on early cruisers the one that starts with the RK was 1st used with the RK light truck.... the jack you have started with the RR16 also considered in the light truck range as a pickup truck some time mid 50's.

Who knows with that time and trial and error of lean manufacturing they could have very well came with the truck.... but... :meh:

Jad here is a picture of CKD crate heading for Mexico from the Toyota Plant... pulled from toyota-global some time ago... thought youd find it interesting... could even have parts from your friends cruiser... it was short lived... stoped in 64' AFAIK
