get a small "nerf" type ball and squeeze it in under the mirror bottom.
no other real way to tighten the mirror in the housing.
is it just the driver door? it opens and closes the most and closing the door over the decades wears the internals of the mirror mechanism.

Nice! Thanks. I was thinking about doing that with a shim. A nerf ball would work way better.
