The original plastic hi-beam indicator on my '72 FJ40 was orangish yellow and was in pretty bad shape. Most every FJ40 dash I have seen has a blue indicator instead of the yellow color, so I wanted to replace with blue. I spent a few days trying to think through how to mold some blue plastic to fit the space provided on the instrument cluster and headed to the local hobby store. I saw the "Shrinky Dinks" that kids play with and thought I would give it a shot. If it didn't work, it would be an inexpensive test to say the least. I bought a royal blue Sharpie and low and behold it worked! The thickness after shrinking is perfect for this application. It took some measuring to cut the original so that the shrunken final piece fit perfectly and I am very pleased with the way it turned out. Just passing along in case anyone else wanted to try this. Posting photos to show the process.
