How about the new plugs...where did you get those? Are they a tight fit?

Hardware store or auto parts store. They should be a little snug and deep enough to go through the foam and metal. Might have to experiment. I don't have s specific part for these. A lot will work.

I wanna bump this as I'm about to try and replace the cardboard/particle board that is my rear tailgate panel.

Lowes was kind enough to give me an old sheet of what seems to be the same product as it is what comes as a packaging material when they get bundles of plywood and such banded between these sheets.

I may just go this route because I have a foam and fabric store close by. They have all kinds of rolls of stuff.

I could even buy a precut length and width of 1" thick work mat if needed.

Anyone else have a cheap but nice tailgate or floor option they have used.

I mean I'm at a point I want to re-install my carpet and have the space to experiment as needed.
I do need the second row but the third will stay in the shed unless needed.

I liked this and appreciate boat decking but wasn't willing to spend the coin. Went with the Huracan storage mod instead.

Just an update incase anyone else wants to replace their ratty carpet:

I ordered a sheet of Hexomat from a retailer who cut it to size for me. I also ordered some carpet clips on amazon (These specifically)

With a little cutting drilling and measuring I was able to get everything mounted up. this set up is nice because I can remove the hexomat if I want and hose it off. If anyone wants more specific details I can help. The only unfortunate part is the color isnt as "ivory" as it looked online. Oh well.
