The gf and I headed up to the central coast to hang out with family and decided to spend a day at Oceano. It was incredibly crowded but we had a lot of fun.
The 37s mounted on the Tundra rims worked so much better than my 35s on the black steelies. I was shocked at how much extra power it felt like I had which seems counter intuitive. I'm guessing it's because of how much lighter this wheel and tire combo is than my old setup.
According the rangers, all vehicles have to have a whip flag now and the only place I had to bolt one was my ARB bumper. Kind of drove me crazy having it up front but it worked and kept me out of trouble.
The only carnage of the trip was a lost lower rear shock bolt. My brakes stopped working in the dunes but a quick tightening of the banjo bolt in the rear took care of that.
I towed a 4runner out of a large bowl and towed a nice first gen Toyota pickup with a blown engine from comp hill back to the entrance. The cruiser towed that pickup up and over dunes, hills, etc. I am so shocked at how capable these rigs are.
The cruiser drove so well this trip that I'm starting to wonder if I should bother regearing it. My money might be better spent getting good shocks. I'm still debating.
