A little more progress, finished the oil pan bung, and started my downpipe. Still getting the hang of TIG and stainless so it’s taking more time. Also figured I check a bearing while the pan is off, looked a little worn so I’ll just replace them all since LCD just delivered new ones today to me!

on the stainless exhaust work get yourself a a big MFurick gas lens and you'll be amazed at the immediate difference. Also try a smaller filler, like .035 or .045 and smaller puddle and moving faster to keep the heat down. That will help avoid that grayish look and keep the stainless, stainless

great tech with the Isuzu VSV's for the 4wd as well. thanks for posting that.

Thank you for those tips! I was trying a few things like having less tungsten stick out and trying to keep heat lower but it only helped so much. One butt joint on the pipe was all more grey than I wanted. Time to check out some cups and smaller filler! Really appreciate that!

Ok oil pan is all on, and oil return is trimmed to fit! Short list before being able to start the truck now is:
- torque manifold down (waiting on studs)
- connect boost line and EGT wires
- connect power to gauges
- build exhaust

getting so close (but building exhaust is a pretty big one ha)

Not so many big updates this week. Parts came for the manifold, and the fuel line. The manifold is all torqued down, all the vacuum connections are finished, the heat shield on, and another joint of the exhaust done

I wanted to make more progress, but we decided to get a tent trailer and found a great deal Monday that we hustled to go get! A friend with a tundra helped us go get it as my truck is down, and the sienna didn’t have a hitch yet. My kids are chomping at the bit to camp this weekend so my time has been spend getting the Van turned into a tow truck 🤣. Still needs some air assist I think, but this weekend is a 60 mile test run so we will just be saggy for it.

After a nice long camping weekend, I’m Getting some more on the exhaust done. This is my first full exhaust build, and it definitely takes time! I am over the frame by the t-case now, so I’m feeling good. As I was looking around I realized most people are putting new hangers on as well. I felt like the OE one was neat and so I wanted to reuse it. I cut one leg of the frame side mount and bent it 90deg towards the front of the truck so I could get my exhaust higher up. After a little trimming and adjusting it sitting in there nice! Maybe not worth the extra time, but it’s nice to re use things that would be tossed.

I also in the mean time got my fuel lines sorted and connected, EGT probe connected, and started replacing bushings and new shackles. WOW they needed it! Excited to see how it handles after this. Felt like it had some bump steer and loose steering (steering linkage play was checked and found worthy). I noticed the shackle bolt was not sitting in the center of the spring eye, but I didn’t think it was this rough ha. Anyways, chunking along, I’d love to fire it up this weekend.

Almost there!! My aluminum pipe came in, so I could finish the intake routing. A little tricky, but got it all on. Welded a bung in there for the PCV hose too. I’m just about to the axle now with the exhaust, I think I’ll make my target of finishing it this weekend!(knocks on wood).

That hose is terrible, good for a test fit but not much else LOL

It’s in!!
I ran out of gas on the LAST WELD 🤦🏼‍♂️ So that was frustrating. Ended up switching to 308L stick welding LOL. I thought I would not have to use that, but here it came to save the day ha. I was planning to switch my tank for 75/25 and get a larger tank for 100% argon, so I really didn’t want to get another full tank. Anyways, it worked out, and it’s underneath so less eyes on it ha.

happy with where it’s at and the tip, wasn’t sure the angle, but I think it’s about right for my tastes. The pipe runs a little too close to the rear shackle, so I’ll see how that goes with the new shackles I have. May need to tweak it a bit. I need to hook up a power wire inside and then I’m READY TO START IT!

Do your bumper lights illuminate or are they simply reflectors?View attachment 2561459
They are just reflectors, I believe the 2007+ update changes them to the turn signals? My friend in japan had to buy old style tail lights when he changed his bumper and remove his spare tire to meet updated regulations on light placement.

I wonder if there are some lights that would mount in there. Might be cool to have more stop lights ha.

I’m assuming, perhaps incorrectly, that the aluminum outer wings can be bought with the operational tail lights installed.

Yeah I’m sure you a right, if nothing else it would have mounts for the corresponding lights. These ones are in pretty good shape, I bought some chrome cleaner to see if I can clean them up a bit more. It a huge fan of chrome, but I think it looks pretty good compared to other stock bumpers!

If it ain’t broke ..... 😁

IT LIVES!

Decided to go for it at lunch today and everything is working! Throttle response worked (I guess I installed the comp correctly ha), and after unkinking my PCV hose (got a little white smoke at first until I realized that) things feel good!

I turned the fuel screw up a bit (honestly I did my best to put it where I was before, but not confident in where it was). Seems good, definitely peppy in my spin around the block. Holding boost (its flat here so its a bit tricky) at 6 PSI gets my EGT to about 600F. Seems a tad high to me, but I'm new at this, I'll have to get it on the highway later and keep an eye on the temps.

Really excited to have it drivable again, and I'm loving the sound of the resonator and turbo. hopefully the videos below work!

so far things are looking good! The oil seems to be done dripping out from my PCV hose mishap LOL. I have a manual boost controller on there and when I punch it my max boost rides right between 13 and 14psi. I haven’t seen EGT over 800, but I also don’t have any hills to test on. The gauges looks pretty good too,

looking forward to some more driving tomorrow! Talked my wife into helping me get the escape gear seat covers on, thank you again @FJ73Texas for help with them. Happy to have covers on for the kids seats (and all the crumbs that come with them) and I slide into my seat much better lol.
