I do mine every 2 years; right before smog... last months numbers made me wonder if the machine was reading anything let alone my 3fe; but I watched the whole time and it just burns that clean. At a whopping 12 mpg!!!
Yes. A well tuned and well maintained 3FE runs very clean. I used to keep track of numbers years ago. I knew when it was time to change O2 sensors and cats.
 
I started working on the OBA a couple weeks ago. This turned into the rear cross member getting removed and replaced with a piece of 1/4" wall 3"x5" tubing, 58" long, with a hitch receiver inset into it as a combined bumper and air tank.

It's not a complete bumper, but it's a start and it is a complete air tank, so I can finish plumbing the OBA and rear locker.
