Well I'm in a crunch now. This is what I need. I need a drop pitman arm for an SOA with no shackle reversal, the high-range SAE tie rod end and the relay rod with the metric lower end to tie back into my stock steering tie rod end.

I've got 2 days to get it. any suggestions?

Hit the pick-n-pull. Find a pitman arm and mating tie rod that will work (right drop and rod end size). Cut the stock rod and the PnP rod into halves. Join to the PnP parts with the appropriate sleeves and plug welds. Drive and see if it works as planned. Then get a new one piece tie rod made to fit the parts you used. Put the 2 piece rod in the back of the truck for a trail spare.

HTH,
Nick

Jeep Comanche pickups, along with XJ Cherokees have a drop arm as a stock piece.

The box I got as a throw in when I bought the cruiser has a nice drop arm on it but I'm concerned it will not work because it has threads on the end for the sae tie rod. I though it should be a tapered smoth bore. Am I wrong?

This is the arm.

Is it really threaded, or just imprints of threads from a fastener that was used in it at one time?

I do not ever remember seeing a pitman arm that you threaded an end into...

Good luck!

I had to re-notch the pitman arm to match the output shaft splines on my Sag box - I think it started out life as a XJ arm. Also check some 4x4 shops in your area, they sometimes keep stock parts that they pull off of customer rigs they put lift kits on. I've scrounged quite a few decent parts like shocks and springs that way.

I gots a drag link , new upper and lower end for drum size tre with saginaw upper joint , I will overnight it to ya if you want . I will check back online all night so hit me up if you want . crap sorry I spent all night working on the PS. Got a lot of Fabbing done. How about PMing me with a price. I would still be interested though I broke down yesterday and bought it from specter $$$. I would still like to have another one.

Well , I was gonna just get ya for shipping and maybe 30 . Cruiser karma is good. However, if not emergency and just for spares I sorta promised em to Mark A. , he would always as would I forgo that agreement when a cruiserhead was in need however . So , you did same as me , IIRC my stuff was spectre also. There is a place that had it and some other cool stuff I think it was TPI Offroad.

Well if he doesn't want it let me know. Thanks for the offer.

I was going to buy it from marksoffroad but time constraints caused me to get it from spector.

Marksoffroad has it with pitman arm for 119. Great deal.

Yep it's threaded:mad: This box came off a race car. So it must be some special fitting. I'm hoping that the SAE joint will be bigger than the threads and I can just ream it out. I'll know tomorrow.

By the way the box is bling bling. PO gave it to me. Every bolt has been drilled and tied. It's 3 3/4 turn. Will find out tomorrow how well it works.

Marks offroad is who the parts are promised to , damn guy gots his hands in everything. Can you ream the pitman for a 1 ton drag link end ? and have the bottom end reamed as well and just use the 1 ton drag link ends.
