Any easy trick to fill fuel bowl on stock carb without taking horn off?

First time with this new carb
Thanks

Crank the engine... :D

that’s all I’ve done... even on my 7.3 diesel... although when I ran it dry it needed a boost from the 40 to bring it back to life.

Yes. That would work

but

New lines and new tank

Just trying to see if I can get it cranked and running

gas in tank, line disconnected at fuel pump, use compressed air to force gas to pump, re connect line, remove line from carb, turn engine over get gas to carb, reconnect line and start rig

I used my shop vac with the hose on the carb horn to suck the fuel from the tank through the empty lines, fuel pump and float bowl. I figured if the intake valves were open the exhaust valves would be (mostly) closed, and it worked fine.

Once the float bowl fills up to operating level, the needle valve closes and you're good to go.

I suppose you could put the vac at the air cleaner inlet (at least on my 73) and possibly get the same result.
