I'd actually prefer a front solid axle and more window room - there are variants of 120's that one cannot get with power windows - I was being somewhat facetious there - it actually doesn't matter. Give me a locked 5 speed diesel Prado 120 with an OME lift and 35's and I'll be happy...

Did you look at any of the other Aus. Toyota models? Go to the "Commercial" vehicle section. How about a brand new FJ78 Troopy? Standard with limited slip, Lockable front and rear diffs in solid axles, 5 speed manual, turbo diesel and you can get them brand new. That's it! I'm moving to Australia. They don't hate Americans as much as the rest of world, right?

How about a brand new FJ78 Troopy?

The FJ78 has a lot of suspension bits from the 80-Series as does the 105 (solid axle 100-Series.) Coil springs, trailing front arms, etc. The FJ78 came out after the 80-Series as a later derivative of the 70-Series.

I think the FJ78 is available in a configuration they call a "Ute" which is basically a pickup.

That's it! I'm moving to Australia. They don't hate Americans as much as the rest of world, right?

I've heard they kinda like us down there and they speak a variant of English though many of us cannot understand them when the talk. I can read Australian pretty well though. :D

Alright Firday @ 6pm

1606 Hermosa Dr
Albuqueruqe, NM 87110

The map posted on http://www.hdcruisers.org/events.html will take you to my neighbors house.

Simple directions:
I-40 to Carlisle
South on Carlisle
pass Indian School (but if you pass Constitution you've gone too far)
Left turn on Aspen (You'll see the Taj Mahal Resturaunt)
First left (Hermosa)

Our house is about the middle on the East side of the street. Kinda hard to see teh house numbers. You'll see my Dark Green LC in the driveway and we'll try to have some outside lights on.

All we have are dog toys, so if your kids have toys they like better than tennis balls and mostly torn up stuffed animals, bring 'em.

Feb 2nd Ground Hogs day... Friday at 6 works for me... unless Poxatony Phil sees his shadow... or my wife goes into labor with our first born...

Be proactive. Don't you have any curbs where you live?

;-)

....... with our first born...

Smart move getting the Cruiser before the kid came along. You don't realize where all the money goes once you have to buy that new, bigger house and all the extra expenses that go along with having kids.

Right, i've been trying to roll over everything i see and hit every pothole... gotta get that baby boy out soon...
Yeah, i justified the purchase of the TLC by saying its safe and reliable for the baby and we've got to have something dependable to get us to the hospital!;~)
we're lookin forward to the meeting friday nite...
hope that MOAB video shows up...
i plan on takin my new family there in may...:grinpimp:

yeah, i know, i'm pretty much stock right now, which is the way i wanted to buy it, not abused yet...
so we'll have to see how much i tell my wife i'm gonna spend on the TLC...;)
check out the mods i've done so far in my cool new signature block...

Kewl. Especially the vanilla air freshener. Is the de-icer Rain-Ex?.

Ofcourse... nothing but the best...
was surfin some other posts and ran across a touching story about a guy named Oleg in CO who had a stroke...
Just made a donation and hope it gets to him soon and helps 'em out...
Signin off for the evenin...

Hank mentioned the Moab video. I just spoke to Bob Ostrom - he was part of HDC until he moved to Anchorage last year. Anyway, he and his wife joined me in the 80 on Hell's Revenge at Cruise Moab last year, and he made a DVD with the video footage he took. He had hoped to be at the meeting tomorrow night, but he's got to fly back to Alaska in the afternoon. Anyway, I will get the video from him tonight and I'll bring it to the meeting. It should be interesting!

I have a feeling I will miss the meeting tomorrow night. I need to work on homework and don't want to wait until Sunday to do it because then I'll end up not going on the Superbowl Run. Anybody out there any good at digital control systems and converting S-domain transfer functions into the Z-domain? Ali?

Marc

Is it a VHS, cause that technology outdates my wife and I. I can barely remember even seeing those growing up....

Kidding aside we don't have a VCR, we can play a DVD though:flipoff2:

If someone has a VCR they wouldn't mind bringing, or I can try to find one.

I've got a VCR I can bring...
A Beta Max too...
and afterward, we can play my Atari 2600...
I'm actually thinkin about puttin an 8 Track player in my TLC, I love how you can only Fast Forward to the next song and then flip over the 8 Track!;p
