I recently stumbled across this photo taken February 14 (maybe 13th) 1976 in Chama. I see FJ-40s, I see no *eeps. ;)

From Railroad Glory Days

Just cool seeing a picture of the 40s in their element, as it were.

I think I'm seeing Mrs. Claus.

What is the guy with the pole doing to Mrs. Claus?

EDIT: never mind, I see now that it is a hand rail for some stairs. My faith in humanity is restored.

That might be a white Wagoneer on the right edge of the picture near the Chevy step-side pickup. But that doesn't really count as a Heep, does it?

A I the only one noticing those 1920's Baldwins in the background steaming up in 1976 and which are STILL in operation in 2011?

Where are those Land Cruisers now?

Nice point.

To be accurate, that's one 1925 Baldwin and an 1889 Cooke under steam in that picture.

Still absolutely amazing to realize that the K-36es are not only still in service after 86 years. If I play my cards right, I hope to have my cruiser when I'm an old man, but I can't imagine my HJ-45 still operating in 2062.

I don't know the particular details of AMC, Jeep, Chrystlar, but the i had for a brief time had the heep name. I would guess AMC they made back in the day is different now.
