Febest steering rack mounting bushings

I had a bad experience with Febest sway bar links and bushings about 1.5yrs ago. The bushings began separating and disintegrating after just 600 miles and the links were 1/8" shorter than stock. Eventually replaced them with Trail Tailor extended links and the Febest ones were trashed when I removed them. I know they're not the steering rack bushings but hopefully the quality of rubber they use has improved. Not to hijack but I have these for sale at the moment: Whiteline Steering Rack Bushing Kit - 100 Series

I've used a number of Whitline poly kits, purchase both from Slee and Online. They work just fine to tighten up steering rack mounting points. The drawback, increased impact to gears of rack, TRE and ball joints.

The rubber bushing I used in The Unicorn gave the closest to stock I've used/felt, maybe a touch on the soft side.

Found some on ebay out of CA and the same ones locally at CVJ. CVJ said they get theirs out of CA, and is a change from what they've used in past do to issue in the 4runner racks they've seen. CA supplier is also a rebuilder and has used same supplier for 18 years, with zero issues reported. deltaap57 | eBay Stores

Any other updates on these rubber bushings regarding longevity/durability? Have you used them again?

The stock bushings in my 04 LX are shot at 168k, but I think the rack itself is still good. I know there have been a lot of positive responses to the bushings from whiteline/superpro, but I want to stay away from the harsher feedback that has been reported from the poly bushing (in addition to the point you mentioned in another thread of making things a bit harder on other steering components).

It has been said many times in many different threads, but thank you for your detailed breakdown and thorough documentation of all the different projects you work on - your threads have been incredibility valuable to anyone wanting to learn more about their vehicles.

I wish I would have searched more before contacting CVJ to get ripped off.

They charged me $110 total - $85 for the bushings and $25 for Fedex 100-day shipping, when I could have bought the same ones from the ebay link @2001LC provided from the deltaap57 ebay seller. The ebay bushings are shown for 4runner, but the application covers the 03+ J100 models.

CVJ bushings are exactly like the pics in the ebay link.

Yeah, CVJ has clipped me more than once. I have had both theirs and the ebay sellers deltaap57 in hand, they're the same. deltaap57 told me they come from China, which I hate stuff from China, more now than ever. They're okay, but a little softer than OEM.
