Hi All,
I just removed the jenky trailer wiring from the rear and now have fast turn signals and non working rears. Wondering if someone could help me make sense of this? I suspect the absence of a connection on this grounding screw is the problem but don't know where and what to reconnect. Removing the trailer wiring is the only thing that I have changed in the equation. Below is a photo of the ground screw and adjacent wiring on the rear crossmember. Thanks in advance for the help!

jonheld thanks so much for the pertinent EWD page. I can see the other (factory) ground point BG on the rear crossmember. Am I correct in assuming that the white/black ground on the spare tire tire support is aftermarket? When removing the aftermarket trailer harness it was grounded to the support. Would I be correct in connecting the G-B to G-B and G-Y to G-Y? Also, I don't see a red wire on the EWD page, any idea what that might be? Thank you and apologies for my lack of ability here with electrical and reading an EWD.
Thanks

I cleaned and reconnected wires per the EWD and all is well! It appears that the red wire would be backup lights for one of the empty trailer harnesses. Thanks again for the help and, as usual, I should have consulted my EWD before posting.
Cheers

Hey there, would it be possible for you to take some pictures of what the ground wires and connection points look like on your truck? I'm troubleshooting suddenly non-functioning turn signals - fuses and relay are good/have been replaced - and so next step is the grounds... But I have about 0 experience with electrical, first time seeing an EWD 😅 any help and pointers would be much appreciated

The grounds are all white with black tracers. The EWDs for all (US) models are in the Resources forum, 80 series section. I'd think you'd be safe using the same year as your model for the grounds.

What Malleus said is totally true. The connection for the taillights is above the spare tire as I remember. If your taillights are not functioning at all, I might take a volt meter and see if you have power at all. My fast turn signal was a ground issue.

Thanks, I'll have to get under there and check this weekend. My brake and reverse lights are working, it's just the turn signals, both front and back and on the dash cluster, that have suddenly stopped 😮‍💨🤷

I've checked the BG ground, and it is where it should be - I scrubbed it and reconnected but no dice. I was trying to find the BF ground as in the picture but couldn't locate it. Where exactly is it?

Don’t quote me but it looks as if the BF ground would be under the center console. I see what looks like front seat harness in the same loom.
