I've got a 95 cruiser that idles really fast at temp, and seems to happen on very hot days. It seems to idle around 1400-1600 RPMs, but has gone as high as 2000. Any ideas???
thanks,
randall

I am still experiencing a fast idle at temp, but only when the outside temp is warm (65* or higher). No problems with this in the winter. I think the throttle or accel cable is sticking, as I can push the butterfly "thing" down and the idle drops. I dont have time right now to pull the throttle body and give it a good cleaning, any suggestions on what I should attempt to clean this with temporarily to fix this? Would engine degreaser work?
thanks

graphite on the cables might help and there are throttle body spray cleaners for which all you have to do is pull the big intake bellows hose off. the best solution though is to clean everything. also, if your t body is gunked up pull the hoses coming from the egr valve to t body and see if they have carbon build up.
