FAQ: Common Land Cruiser 80 Problems, Issues, and Solutions (1 Viewer)

The TLC is great and almost bullet proof, but it does have many common problems. Does anyone care to list some? We can build a sticky thread w links to solution threads if we get some participation here. Correct me if this has been done already.


- Power seat track bushing flaw (fix)
- Non retracting seat belts (fix)
- Odd front speaker door sizes (discussion, discussion)
- Birf/CV/bearings rebuilds/maintenance (rebuild)
- Shaky mirrors (fix)
- Wind deflector and factory roof rack mounting point rust
- Sticking/Slow power windows (fix)
- Factory Tint Color Matching (discussion)
- Valve Gasket Oil Leak (fix)

mine has a oil leak comming from the front main on the oil pain. i dont know if its a common issue. when i bought liquidman's (tim) 3rd row seats. he went over abot 5-10 things that go bad quick on land cruisers

I did a search for an oil pan leak and did some threads, but it didn't look like one of the most common issues. You did remind me about the valve cover leak though which I just added that is pretty common and an easy fix.
