Has anyone been out to 4th of July Canyon lately? I’m headed to ABQ to get my roof rack and RTT and wanted to take the kids camping to see some leaves a changing. @alia176 & @Mauser said it is supposed to be epic when the maples change.

Thanks in advance. 🍻

I think its pretty much over by now

Bummer. Been too busy this year
Its still a pretty place. Probably still some color Not very busy now. Prime time was probably 3-4 weeks ago.

I saw photos of the peak about 3 weeks ago.

I was exploring Capilla peak trails, little South of 4th Canyon last weekend. The colors are gone but the warm temps sure makes it tempting to wanna camp!!!

I visited Capilla peak fire lookout tire and CG, which are next to each other. So you can imagine the views from there and i saw couple of campers there.

Went for a ride Sat afternoon and the colors were still there but not for much longer in the Bosque.

We got a late start, so we ended up close to the snowy river cave national conservation area. Close to Fort Stanton. Views of Capitan mountains & Sierra Blanca. Bright moon made for a pretty dramatic moonrise. Saw a couple shooting stars and the kids had a blast.
