Took my son's truck to get inspected today after it had been parked for a few months... it failed for
HC(PPM) at 289 for high rpms and 231 for low rpms. standard is 220 at both rpms. Truck is a 92 with 22re

any suggestions?

Thanks,
ML

mechanic told me this years ago- run the tank down to about empty. then go buy 2 bottles of rubbing alcohol and pour it in. drive a mile or two and head back over. this worked for me back in the day

Thanks Jason,

I am going to try the alcohol trick today. I took the truck back for re-inspection after oil change, plugs, cap & rotor and it the readings got worse.
