My cruiser barely failed the CO portion of the emissions test (WA state). it's an 84 fj-60. from what I've read this is resulting from an issue with the air intake system, somewhere! In a couple of years, a smog test won't be required. My question is this, is there a simple way to just get the rig passed? hotter plugs? take the air filter out? bypas something? fuel additive? thanks!!

Post up your number. Please. You test at idle or on a dyno?

Make sure the hot air intake is not permanently open on the air intake hose coming from the front fender. You can pull the air intake hose going to the fender off and make sure the flap is down. It is controled from a vacuum line coming from underneath the air filter housing.
