I have been talking with @4060seriesnut and @FJBen about ordering a soft top kit for my 73 and the question came up about making the side windows able to roll up when you want.

Did the factory soft tops had the roll up sides windows? If so, where the velco in place or zipper?

Any thoughts on how to do this differently or better?

THanks,

Here are a few pictures showing the zipper setup.

Velcro and zipper both to hold it in place when windows are down. Straps to hold it up when rolled up. Metal bar inserted at bottom of flap helps keep the flap secure and from anyone poking their hands up inside. It really is a wonderful design and OEM is best in my opinion but I really do like the aftermarket version being offered also.

I tried to be comprehensive in my thread. Agreed that poem is well thought out, but Saad’s stuff is really nice as well. You can’t go wrong either way.
