Hello,

I am hoping someone in the Colorado, Denver/ Front Range area, may know of anyone taking on fabrication work? I have taken my FJ62 to CTS up in Conifer in the past, they are great, but they aren't doing fabrication work. I seem to be hitting this roadblock everywhere I try. I have searched the threads listing shops in the area, but some are closed while others won't look at fabrication work unless its a full restoration. The rear end of the cruiser has c channels that need replaced and the shock hanger. The usual culprits of rusting out. Or someone can throw me a number to buy the FJ and put me out of my misery, ha. Any info on fab shops/ guys would be very very appreciated!

Here is a link to a gallery with about 100 images of the FJ so you can get a vibe of where I am at. Thanks!

Have you tried Redline in Colorado Springs or Proffits in Western Colorado? Classic Cruisers?

@DangerNoodle
Hi, I emailed redline, classic cruisers will go on places to call if I exhaust the front range/ colorado springs area. It will be a bit of a haul to trailer the truck out there. Then followed by places around Grand Junction. Thanks for the suggestions!

Well shoot. Those are the only Toyota shops that I know of who does fabrication work. There are a few hot rod shops in Denver but I’ve never used them and I imagine that you have already called. The only other thing that you might try is a heavy equipment fabricator or tractor trailer shop.

I appreciate it. I figured I would attack this by trying to find a shop that has worked on cruisers. Then broaden the hunt if no one is in the front range, then if that doesn’t work, trickle down to hot rod shops. I hadn’t thought of heavy equipment fabricators though. New last resort. Thanks!

Now that I have had more time to think about it, Brian Gobin at Hillside 4X4 would be plenty capable of doing this job. His fabrication skills are amazing, too, and he is a long time Cruiser owner.

I’d offer to help but I am in the middle of a large project myself…

Thanks for the suggestion, I will reach out now and keep you posted. I would say you have your hands busy for sure, talk about a project. Very cool to see.

I’ll be curious to hear what you find out.
I will go back in about a week or two when I feel like shops have gotten back to me and post it in hopes it could help someone out later on. Is there a thread or place on the forum I could pass the info along to that may easier to find for other people?

Well friends, its been about a week so I wanted to go back and post my findings. Two shops in the Denver/ Front Range area got back to me about doing the C channel repair and welding in a new rear shock hanger They were First Choice Fabrication, and Donnie Lovett (donnielovett93@gmail.com). I hope that helps someone in the future. I called about two dozen shops, there just weren't a lot of people taking on that kind of work. Also, if that information would be helpful to post in some other area of the Mud forums, let me know. Thank you all again for the help and input!
