I'm searching for more info on rust repairs since the only BJ74 I'd be able to afford is probably going to have some rust.

I found this pic. Buy or make your own parts to repair this? The area back inside?

RUSTY BITS

Like the rig/photo above, my Spanish 73 had a rusty side panel (between driver's door and rear wheel well). It was cut out with a replacement fabbed by the shop. In the photos below, you can see where the replacement extends below stock bottom edge. Turned out well, with a nice paint job as well.

And then, there's the windscreen rust....

7X windshield frames seem to crap out every 10 or 15 years. Lots of threads on MUD around this subject. Photos below of my WS frame. Instead of dicking around with repairs, I bought an OEM frame from Mr. Toyota. Fiberglass replacements are also said to be available.

Rust spots on my truck.

Fro the first pic, did you also cut out the area behind; the area that is rusty in the photo?

I'd be doing this myself so I'm curious.

Any photo-journals to look at here?

Yes, the repair on my truck is the same area. I did not do the work, so no photos. If you ask around, its likely that some Mud members could help with snaps.
