Picking up dual cases this weekend, although this is exactly what I want to do, it is by far not the cheap way and will further delay the cruiser. T case is a r1fa with a another low range stacked on to it.

Yup, sounds like a 2jz
I Hope so. Turbo flutter on the way.

clutch is fully operational
Coolant system is done
Power steering is sealed no fluid yet
Waiting on more t clamps that actually fit for the intercooler
shocks bumpstop drops are needed
Before a test drive

Very excited for you to get this out and drive it! I am going to be very curious what you think of the turbo response. Sweet and different setup for sure.
Haha yeah it will be hella lag I wish I knew what the motor was going in when I bought the turbo. Ball bearing and smaller for sure. However
It can’t make less than my buddies 3fe with 400k mi on the clock

what I’m most interested in is the new weight

Going to be an incredibly cool and unique set up. I just can't wait to hear Supra sounds coming out of an 80, what could be more amazing than that?

insta Video won’t load
However it drives finally
Easiest to drive manual I’ve ever driven

On no boost and a base tune it’s still faster than any stock 80 with 37s so of course it’ll have 2 step and probably flat shift as well, those are easy. She feels like she wants to burn down some craigslist 37s exiting the shop
Needs a non eBay turbo this one is already leaking oil and it is soaking the afr sensor making it very difficult to tune. Definitely backfires right now because the map table is for boost and I didn’t have clamps in

double low and first is also very useful for a manual 2jz in a land cruiser(it’s probably close to 4000lb rn)

I have started brainstorming for the front bumper
Decided to go tube to keep the weight down
Might make room for a winch... we will see

stay tuned this build will only go farther beyond bat $h][+ crazy.

Some things I’ve learned

make the harness on the bench
You can’t spend too much time researching
Have a good set of friends that both encourage and question

Other than those
Best place to learn about R series transmissions is marlin crawler

Also instagram is corbinjl it gets updated more frequently and has videos

Have a pretty bad radiator leak... it was free for a reason
Wound up doing the dimple dies on the rear fill and vent. Ecu successfully connected to the dash. Everything works ok, so now time for the boring stuff before taking it anywhere
Will be painting all the brackets and cleaning everything up, it was a science experiment up until recently
Also the other throttle body failed on me catastrophically and got stuck at WOT and went to 7000rpm before it got shut off. And it was leaking so I ordered a non eBay/non wuhan TB from CX Racing. Still much to do but nothing “new and cool” till it is streetable and racing civics.

A few updates
Project is in on a partial hold so I’ll be working on cleaning up the edges
I’m doing some other projects to make some money

changes coming soon
Rear mounted radiator so there is room for ac, easier to work on and bigger radiator.
second row delete to cut more weight and provide room for a partial cage. And safer rear seats
