F crank pulley seal (1 Viewer)

Do I have to remove the timing cover to replace it? I'm going to Speedi-Sleeve my "new" crank pulley, not really leaking from the seal NOW, but I figure if I'm there, why not?

On the other hand, I've read reservations gainst it unless it's really leaking, maybe the Speedi-Sleeve will tighten things up, and I shouldn't open that can 'o worms?

Does it just pop out the front with a pry device?

No need to remove the cover, just pop it out with a puller. Don't forget to put a bit of grease in the lip so it doesn't burn up instantly.

Hmmm, really? Does not oil get washed up onto the seal area? Instantly? I forgot to lube mine when I replaced my pulley. Wish you hadnt said that, I might be replacing my seal soon. %&//($·""!"!!!$ $$"" &!!!

Don't sweat it! You should be fine. The grease is just a good idea whenever doing a seal. I should not have used the word instantly anyway.

Yah I have been watching it nervously today and it seems fine, I think my pulley surface is too wore out to burn up a seal anyway...
