I am in the process of restoring the A/C system in my '87 I use as a hunting truck. With the help of a buddy who is a great A/C technician I have sourced all the parts to make the system basically brand new. We finally started getting it done, and I ran into a roadblock with the short tube connected to the evaporator that the low pressure switch and expansion valve mount to.
The A/C hose fitting (steel) is married forever to the aluminum threads on the tube. I tried everything, soaking, heat etc. and could not get it off. I eventually destroyed the aluminum fitting on the tube so I need to source a good used one.
If anyone has one they would be willing to part with please give me a shout.
The Specter website refers to it as the "expansion valve tube" (item 36 below)
