Exhaust tip location for topless (1 Viewer)

Looking for recommendations on a good location for exhaust tip to be placed or bent to reduce blow back in the cab when running without a top. And yes a better setup for mud flaps. 1982 FJ40 5.3 Vortec NV4500

Here is what I did with my rig.

I have a 350 in mine and the exhaust exits on both sides right in front of the rear wheel. I have never had a top on it and have never dealt with any exhaust smell while driving.

You might try shortening the pipe. 350,sm420. No mud flap

A motorhead hotrod friend of mine suggested running an extension out to just beyond the rear tire. I haven't tried it yet. If that doesn't work, I am going to have a vertical exhaust fabricated like in this one in Brazil. (They don't ship to the USA). The last picture is what I have now and it sucks exhaust when the back flap is open. I don't have the problem when I have no top at all.
