Hi,
New to posting on this forum, been watching for some time. I have a '82 ROW FJ40 with some issues on the intake and exhaust manifold. I've got them off the rig and separated them. I am looking for the metal insulator that goes between the stock exhaust and intake manifold - no luck. Any suggestions of where to look?

I'm having a few cracks welded on both the intake and exhaust headers - fortunately I found a guy that welds cast iron just before he retired!

Thanks!

Jason

1 piece exhaust manifold?
US got a 3 piece design that virtually eliminated cracking
IIRCC cruiser outfitters sells those pieces in between the manifolds
or get the complete block off plate if your flapper isn't working, or does your manifold have a flapper?

you'll need to leave it all loose and bolt it to the head to get everything lined up and flat to the head

Interesting. It has what looks like a 3 piece design, but it's a South America car, no emissions, etc. I don't even have a flapper in mine. It's just the manifold going to the exhaust pipe, nothing more complicated than this.

Roger on the tip for keeping it loose... thanks!

J
