I have a leak where the exhaust manifold and front exhaust pipe gasket is. I soaped the joint up and it blew big bubbles. I think just removing the front pipe at the cat should be enough to replace the gasket. While I have it apart I will check the cats. Should I be able to see through them ( I got a new cat for the fj60 and it used several screans that I could see through)?
Is there any thing else I should check while I have the exhaust off?

Kurt,
You can see thru a good cat, It will look like a screen door.

You should be able to remove the pipe and leave the cat in place, but in order to see thru it you will need to remove the rear pipe too.

The pipe to manifold gasket is a 90080-43036
The front cat gasket is a 90917-06043
The rear cat gasket is a 90080-43033

I have the cat gaskets as I was going to remove and check the cats. Usualy I would see that the other gasket is leaking after I have had it apart once. I beter check the manifold too.
thanks
