Are these gaskets reusable? they look like a split, coil that fits into the exhaust manifold flange channel. how do they seal?

They seal just fine if you have original exhaust parts and get the correct gasket. There are some threads on the brand.

Check out post number 287 on my thread. That gasket is readily available through Toyota and you will definitely want to replace it. The gasket goes on first, and then the ring above it.

What market is this 79 from? The picture is not of a 79 FJ40 for the US market. Those have a small section bolted to the exhaust manifold that splits it into two smaller pipe that run under the frame and attach bolt to the CAT. Other markets it still ran outside the frame starting 1/79 but those ran over the frame verses under it. Picture appears to be the pre 1/79 which stayed inside the frame.
