In the garage.
I just went & pre-registered for GSMTR today.
There are only 200 spots available...& I was #96.
Don't know if you have to be registered to go, or not, but I wanted the full experience, so I pre-registered. It's cheaper on line.

I havent. who has?

Before I do I need to know how strict they are on the e-brake crap.

If you go to the registration site, they have a link to TLCA vehicle inspection specifications.

Right, and I fail that BS. I dont and wont run a parking brake. I also have a crack in my wind shield, I know its up to the inspector on the crack, but its a long ass drive.

Sorry I have huge problem with authority. Half of me wants to show up with every violation. :flipoff2:

I also dont want to sign up for TLCA. But I guess this is the shiat I have to do.

For this years CTJ I will require a proof of sams club membership, and your cholesterol must be below 175... :flipoff2:

Last year they didn't do any inspections from what I could tell...certainly not any of our rigs. Not sure about previous years. You should be OK John.

X2.......Ron and i both can only speak for last year but they did no inspection on my rig. He asked a couple questions about the rig while it was 100 ft away sitting on the trailer. My guess, they are just doing what insurance ask of them. I think you would be fine especially as nice as your rig is.
Maybe The Commander can chime in here, he has some good history down there.

and a disconnected parking brake preferably a cut cable

Missed last year but the two years before they did do an inspection. It wasn't anything too major, just making sure you weren't driving something that would be dangerous for others around you. In one inspection they seen that my centerlink was loose and saved me the problems.

The parking brake should not be an issue. But you can shoot them an e-mail and see, it is a new club running the show this year.

Lets see here....my cholesterol is a bit high, my Sams club membership has lapsed, My shoes are 2 different sizes & I have brain damage.....I should fit right in. And I promise not to use my park brake.

Anyone else have a bad feeling about Tellico ORV. I keep hearing little birdies mentioning something about a serious shut down. Now the registration is closed. And I did some snooping on the other side of the fight and heard stuff about a "temporary closing on 4-1" until a final decision can be made......

This was posted on 2/27 in the Save Tellico thread and should explain the problem:

The BlueRibbon Coalition is a national recreation group that champions
responsible use of public lands and waters, and encourages individual
environmental stewardship. It represents of 10,000 individual, business,
and organizational members for a combined total of over 600,000
recreationists nationwide. 1-800-258-3742 BlueRibbon Coalition: Preserving your recreational access to public lands.

BRC Critical Action Alert -- THEY WANT TO CLOSE TELLICO!

You MUST take action to save Tellico NOW!

Today the Southern Four Wheel Drive Association (SFWDA) met with the USDA
Forest Service (USFS) and heard a presentation on what will be in their
Environmental Assessment (EA). While they have 7 alternatives that they are
considering, their preferred alternative is to CLOSE TELLICO. While we know
that this is completely unacceptable and will cause immediate and intense
emotional reaction, we are asking that everyone maintain a level head and
concentrate on what our task is now.

STEP 1: The USFS Forest Supervisor issued a TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER that
will keep Tellico closed until they decide what the fate of the area will
be. This means that TELLICO WILL NOT REOPEN ON APRIL 1ST! Please read the
order here:
http://www.cs.unca.edu/nfsnc/nepa/tu...ry_closure.pdf
and provide comments to the temporary closure. Be sure to talk about all
the plans you have to use the area and all the events that are already
scheduled and that you have paid to attend. We MUST NOT LET THIS HAPPEN!

STEP 2: We must, at all costs, provide as many SUBSTANTIVE comments about
the EA as humanly possible. And we are ready. SFWDA requests that you
download the study that we commissioned
(Recommended Trail System Repair and Maintenance Plan Upper Tellico OHV System ) and that you download the
USFS EA which is posted here
(Upper Tellico OHV Area ) and that
you compare the two side by side and start making comments. Our study will
give you the data that you need to make comments about the surveys that have
been done, the lack of maintenance they USFS has completed, the science, the
engineering, the economics, EVERYTHING.

We will work to have a letter generator up, but honestly, we need for you to
take pencil to paper and think this through. Copy this announcement and
send it to your friends, family, and everyone you know.

STEP 3: The other thing we need, and you know what it coming, is money. In
this tough economic time, it's hard to find a few dollars to support a
cause, but if you enjoy the Tellico area, or even the dying sport of OHV and
4X4 recreation, please consider a donation to Rescue Tellico so that we may
continue to fight for Tellico.
Rescue Tellico Fund

STEP 4: In an effort to show that we will not accept these actions,
Crawford's Campground is committing to continue on with the plans for Spring
Fling on April 4th. Please consider attending and showing your support and
helping to raise money for Rescue Tellico.

So you know, SFWDA is working very closely with United Four Wheel Drive
Associations (UFWDA) and the BlueRibbon Coalition to review these documents.
BE ASSURED that the lawyers will be reviewing all of these documents in
detail and that we are all ready to take whatever action is warranted to
further the fight to KEEP TELLICO OPEN!

Thanks you for your help,

SFWDA, UFWDA, and BRC
