Error Code P1442 / 07 LX470

Hello,

My 07 LX470 is throwing error code P1442: Secondary Air Injection (AIR) System Switching Valve No. 2 Bank 1 Stuck Closed.

Anyone know anything about this issue? I did see a post about a bypass for this issue, but not sure if it is worth the hassle. If I do the bypass, will this cause any issues, gas mileage, elec. etc.? Anyone fixed the issue without doing the bypass, if so, costs?

that code could/will go away with the bypass. Read this page half way down. Wired Bypass Kit, Original
replacing that valve, drivers side firewall, would take some work. I doubt you could get it out without removing the intake. If i recall they are 170 or so. Stuck closed is safe to keep driving (on paper) without fixing for a bit while someone made decisions. Check the little crossover vacuum hoses on the side of the intake on the opposite side. Check the air tube that goes from the vavle down to the exhaust manifold (drivers side) from underneath. You can see it with a flashlight to make sure it's still attached and all looks well. After those checks I think the valve has to come out to assess. Good luck.
I would have fixed mine probably, but my issue only happened after I replaced the starter. I wasn't going to take the manifold off a second time in three months.

Hi There, how did it go with the installation? My 2007 LX470 had P1442 code. I purchased the Hewitt kit but have not had a chance to get on it yet. Any advise would be appreciated.
