Why did you abandon the PCV? There really isn't any reason, performance wise, to ditch it.

Oil carryover from blowby coating the intake and throttle. Closed crankcase is for emissions regs

the cab is finally leak free after the new windshield and some spray bottle testing under the fenders - Newly caulked seams and it passes a pressure washer and thunderstorm test.

Dynamat xtreme and black stock interiors carpet are going in along with finally putting on the door panels.

Still need to dynamat and install the door panels.

Axle is torn down and slowly being cleaned before chopping and welding.

Butyl tape and 3mil drop cloth. Door panels are finally on and the interior is done.

Next up is welding a new 2.25" exhaust and something with this axle....

Finally giving in to fixing all of the exhaust leaks... On the plus side none of the bolts broke.. because every nut was almost hand tight.

The plan of replacing a few gaskets turned into an LCE header, desmog, o2 and a stainless tig welding project. Waiting for UPS

The biggest challenge is getting the new nuts properly torqued on the studs in the head. They usually just pull or strip out. And it's always the last one by the master cylinder, the hardest to reach and drill out.

Removed and chased

Wet cyl 4 is degreaser

Chase them all you want, they'll still strip out and ruin your day sometimes. Throw away all the old rusty studs, get new ones (OEM only).

Any time I had one of those heads off, my SOP was to go ahead and Helicoil them all.

Just went through this. What a miserable POS the 22re head is. Luckily it was on the floor of my shop. Had to helicoil the last 3 stud holes. On two of them I had to drill them out deeper and use longer bolts because the factory studs pulled the helicoils out. Fun day...

The holes are still smaller than a timesert/keensert, though, so if/when I have to do it again I can use one of those.
