I just got a 73 F engine w/ 4 spd tranny. My '70 F blew. When I swap them will there be a problem w/ the driveline length or do they just fit right in?

The engine will not change anything in this set up...

If you are replacing a three speed tranny with a four speed tranny, you will need to find the driveshafts from the four speed truck, or have yours changed....

Good luck!

Where are you located? I might have these in my garage. Also, I would keep the 3spd. I've heard that the 3spd actually has a lower first.

The 3spd TC has a lower low than the 4 spd TC,but the 4 spd trans has a lower low than the 3spd trans.

and a 4spd tranny has synchros....the 3spd transmission does not

plus the 3 is a 3 and the 4 is a 4, which is a difference of 1.

Best observation yet.....

The 3 speed has synchros in 2nd and 3rd. Not first os reverse :D
