Hi.

So this is a bit hard to describe but is it normal for my engine (1989 FJ62) to sound like a diesel engine? It makes this constant dull clicking/clunking sound. It's hard to describe in words other than that it reminds me of old Mercedes-Benz diesel engines. The engine runs fine and I've no issues but was wondering if the sound was normal or is it leading to disaster?

Thanks,

Thomas

Cool! Man, you guys are awesome!!! Sorry for my total lack of knowledge - I love these cars but haven't a clue about its mechanicals.

Leak at the manifold will also give more of a tractor sound.

i've a similar sound in my 88 62. how does one adjust the valves? and where would or could the manifold leak(at the gaskets?)?

if does it when cold, its probably the j pipe thing. Sorry, forgot the actual name.
