Hello crew

Fj40
1980 2f

Just replaced the clutch and new transmission seals

All runs well and no leaks

But upon acceleration UNDER LOAD
I get a severe engine racing when I push the clutch in to up shift

It will not race under No load

Also while cruising at 50 or any speed if one takes foot off gas it seems not to decelerate

I don't believe it is a throttle problem or anything sticking in the linkage as I can't make It race under no load

Any thoughts
Thanks

Could be a clutch adjustment?

Motor mount should be ok I haven't messed with it. What are you thinking here?

Yes I have done that with my foot. But Thant would lead me to think something else wrong

It does not seem so.
It won't stick under NO load

if the motor ds motor mount is bad, the engine rocks up under load binding the mechanical linkage.

Ahhh. I see how that motor
Mount can cause issues but that doesn't seem to be the case

After some more diagnosis it seems that the throttle linkage
Is not retuning to home after gas is given and the released.

This is under NO load

Tried some carb spray on the throttle body But no luck

The carb was rebuilt by Jim c this past spring

Seems like it needs a stronger return spring at the carb. Not at the pedal

Funny how this stuff pops up
When the rig just sits in the garage during a clutch job

Anyone have any viewpoints I'm open to suggestions. Rather not remove the whole carb. Why? Time
My friends....

Thanks
