I bought a 1976 FJ40 that I am trying to restore. It had a SBC motor attached to a ranger overdrive unit. I have a 2F motor that I would like to reinstall but am not sure about the front frame engine mounts. It looks like the two front frame engine mounts were welded in to fit the SBC motor. If so I can remove them. How do I source a set of OEM front frame mounts? Did they bolt in, riveted or welded? Any help and maybe a pic of what they are supposed to look like would really help. Thanks in advance.

You'll have to buy used (classifieds), but you should be able to grind off the added plates and bolt then right back into place (they were riveted originally). You can still see part of the footprint where they were in the inside of the frame.

I have a pair available.
