Engine Flush

If I put a litre of ATF fluid in my motor oil to flush the engine, How Long should I run it for to get maximium effect? Five minutes, drive ten miles, a week? You get the picture.

I ran ATF in my 3B Diesel engine for 15 min. It does the job of breaking up carbon. As another option try also sea foam and pour a can in the tank and a can in the oil. Call the parts stores like napa to see thay have it then run it for a day or two before changing the oil. Best of luck

I would get it nice and hot with out overloading it and leave it overnight to soak in.
Then get it hot again and drain.

However if the engine has high klms I would leave it.
Sometimes these flushes can dissolve enough gunk around the rings to lose compression
