Is the original emissions control system used with a V8 conversion?
what happens with the fuel vapors if this system isn't used?
I've been reading how on the original engine the vapors are routed through the charcoal canister at idle speeds then through the intake manifold at higher speeds via the vacuum switch valve, thus preventing them from entering the atmosphere.
Is it bad for this system to not be working/used? I get a strong fuel/exhaust odor in my cruiser after driving could this be the problem?
Thanks for any input.
