I spent some time this week reverse engineering this emissions computer. Figured out what test waveform I needed to mimic the VSS in the speedometer. Compared to some, this one is pretty simple, it turns the VSV on and off depending on vehicle speed. PM me if you need yours tested or repaired.

@Engineer8000, this is very cool. So a question if you don’t mind.

A few years ago, my ‘77 FJ40 would stick at RPM when shifting between gears. After a lot of troubleshooting, I disconnected the emissions computer and the issue went away. Was this coincidence or could this unit have caused the issue I describe? My understanding is that it has some degree of control over idle to improve emissions.

The only control the ECU had was when the AI happened at low vehicle speed so I don't think that was your issue. If it was malfunctioning, it is unknown what was going on.

Testing out a couple more.

Sadly, sellers of "refurbished" modules = generally = we put some paint on it. These things are very well engineered and reliable so they get away with it. You can send me your emission computer, fan relay, AC amplifier, etc., I will fully test it, fix it (can't fix the SE012 in the AC Amp) and you can have confidence it is working.

What’s even more phunny Russ is I think for sure certain I have scooped up the ONLY living and Breathing Remaining Alive First Generation. Publication. Of the Toyota Wire Harness Repair FSM

So unicorn 🦄 rare it’s in German ?

To top that it indeed it has the BLUE / Green Emissions Computer Female Connector Housing Plug in it !

Imagine that smack !

This is the 1991 first global publication RM234M

The non existent USA publication # was RM234E

No surviving copies remain of that sadly

I just got this DHL last week here at the skunk works

A small life long quest is complete

And well it’s indeed juicy tech …

Like Bullet connectors and green tint yazaki Sheeths no doubt …

Also all the CB40M. And CB40F. Connector plugs unique to only then
