elock third to a non elock housing (1 Viewer)

I have a 97 Fzj80 non elock (open) axle in my Fj40. I finally found a 94 full fload elock third. I know I have to cut my housing a little get it to fit, but I also read that the shafts are different between non elock and elock rear Fj80's. Is this true? Or would it work with a little cutting of my housing?
