Hi Guys. Have anybody eliminated the factory oil cooler on the side of the block on the 1fz-fe? Can it be done just by putting two flanges on the block and plugging the water holes? Thanks,

I suspect not. If I recall, the 2 flanges on the block are the oil path into the aluminum housing. Oil flows into the housing and is diverted into the cooler, out the cooler back into the housing where it returns to the block. There is a pressure relief valve in the housing as well.

The water can potentially be blocked with a freeze plug but not 100% on that.
