I have restored a 1964 International Scout 80 4x4 with the half V8 engine. The positive wire to the battery gets hot. I have replaced the alternator, regulator, condenser, points, plugs, plug wires, rotary button, distributor, and coil. I have checked all the wiring connections but I must be getting a ground problem. Any ideas?

Looks nice! I'm guessing your talking about the charge wire from the alternator so maybe check your regulator connections? or try unhooking wires until the problem stops. Also did the problem start when you replaced one of those items or?

Starter or starter solenoid would be my guess.
Unless your harness battery lead is attached at the starter post.
