hello guys, before i install my egt i would like to hear from everyone of you who has installed the EGT senor. may i know where and how you install it? if you have pictures it would be better. i would prefer installing in the pre turbo to have accurate temp. my landcruiser 100 has 1HD-T engine, 2.75 in down pipe after the turbo outlet and 2.75 muffler all the way back. i also had tune it here in our local shop and dyno. the result 147hp@ wheel with 0.85 boost. am getting quick acceleration comapred before 116hp@wheel with 0.71 boost. I bought Defi guages

Thats a 2h, but the idea is the same. I put it in a similar place just ahead of the crossover pipe, behind the a/c compressor. 2 inches from the head. It's that bent silver looking thing coming out of the hole on the exhaust shield.

Remember to take the turbo off before drilling a hole in the manifold. Turbo's don't like metal shavings in the impellers.

EGT- done!!

Yes! I finally installed the EGT to my 1HD-T it was pretty easy to remove the manifold and the turbine. but it was PITA to get it back. it was due to the oil return line that i accidentally bent it.:whoops: it took me 4hours and 4 of us doing the installation. and will route the sensor and the boost guage to the cabin tom. BTW, is there any torque spec for installing the manifold back? i just tightened it without using torque wrench.
