Ok so after reading loads of threads about the intake port being clogged near the throttle body, I removed the throttle body and cleared the passage which was indeed clogged with carbon. While I was removing the throttle body I also removed the valve. It came off after much persistence but now that it is off id much rather replace a faulty valve now then to have to repeat the process again.
I should have checked for vacuum prior to removing but I can't go back now. Is there anyway to test the valve. My valve is a green top valve btw.
Code 71 is showing up and is what motivated the cleaning.
