Seems like the accelerator pump wasn't working. Stumbleing when you give it gas, wouldn't start in morning without primeing but afterwards would start with no problem, couldn't see any fuel squirting into carb. Replaced accelerator pump and still have the stumble and can't see any gas. Any ideas?

DavidW;

What year FJ40? Miles? Is this a Man-A-Fre Edlebrock and carter carb set up? I had one on my '73; really ran great!

Might check the fuel pump and filter that u should have on the fuel system. Fuel pumps seem to die around 70k miles. Filters last maybe a year or so.

Sorry, my post was kinda vague. Its a 1405 carb on a small block 400 in my Pig. I think that its a 600cfm.

this advise still aplies:
check the float level, both sides
check/change the filter
check the fuel pump delivery presure/ volume
check timming/ advance
was this running well before?
i have the same carb on the 350 in my pig
