EDIC

Got no replies lastime I asked so I'll try again.
Is it possible to fit an edic to a bj40 which at present has manual cut off & the magnetic gizmo. If so can anyone tell me how??

Not sure what you have. Can you take a picture of the back half of the injection pump?

Maybe you need a whole new stlye pump.... I dunno. A edic could be put on any engine, but lots of wiring and set up. If the engine is made for something different and is working fine I would not bother with edic. Have you seen all the threads with edic problems? and parts are very expensive.

If my edic quits and I can't find an economical solution, I too will be manual controlled.

I like simple.

I agree with brownbear. I haven't got EDIC and the engine starts and stops just fine. And it's funny to see the amazement of a passenger when I pull out the key and the engine keeps on running ...

I looked in my fsm for the engine. That magnetic overinjection looks interesting. Any got a picture of one?

Wanna trade your magnet and vacum shut off for my EDIC motor? Just being starcastic. Just did a search after finding I'm missing the EDIC relay. A magnet and vacum sounds pretty reliable. Better than a cable, yet solid. I want one.

My EDIC was toast when I bought my truck, but I would really like to make use of the low oil pressure warning. Has anybody ever set up the low oil pressure to light a warning light on the dash before? I was trying to think of a way to wire the power- would it work to draw power from the alternator line through the sensor and then to a light in the dash? That way the light would only come on when the truck was running as opposed to if I ran it from the battery or another constant power source.

I'm always in the road to simplify my life .. why not mechanical oill press gauge, and not to deal with complicate solutions to use the oil press sensor . ?

I have installed a mechanical gauge- I had just though it might be nice to put some kind of a warning (read Idiot) light in as well. I thought I had read about somone doing this before- but can't find the thread.
