    Nice pistol.

How do you like the bushing-less barrel? I've never had one of those, but I've never had one shorter than Commander-size either.

I like it a lot. Visually, its pretty cool and makes a .45 barrel look like .75 haha. It shoots very well too. And even with the full length guide rod, take down is simple without a silly tool. I was hesitant to go with the 4" barrel instead of the 5", but I'm very glad I did.

I have a S&W with a 4.25" barrel but the conventional bushing. It shoots well and has never given me the problems that some people complain about with the ultra-short 3" barrels.

Very nice! Stainless and cocobolo is an awesome combo. I don't think I'd go any shorter than a 4.25" or 4" 1911 myself.

I have heard that the Daltech Force Bull Hide belt is good. I thought $50 is where they were priced. Anybody worn them?

I have 2. Glock 27 with Bladetech IWB or FOBUS paddle with a 5 degree cant. Various loads-current is Hornady critical defense.

Or when I'm not really carrying, I have a Beretta Bobcat in a pocket holder. Surprisingly accurate for such a short barrel and it only eats CCI mini-mags well.

I believe these are on sale at Cabelas now. Also I think you can get the factory rebate which includes a bag and extra magazines until June 30

I have a XD mod2 subcompact in 9mm (only 10 rounds are legal in ct) and my wife has a S&W shield.

Here is a few pics side by side. Shield is a little thinner.

My wife uses Can Can concealment and Dean Adams products and carries all the time.

I bought this the end of March, two days before the $75 mail in rates came out.

But I love it. Probably buy another just to get the rebate.LOL

@flintknapper how do you like that micro carry? I have been flirting with those for a while now. Great books I will add as well!!

@Dudleyfj40 thanks for the tip on the rebate a S&W shield 45 is on the way!!

I only have been following prices on firearms closely for a year or so but seems in my area there are many great deals now. Usually I shop at Cabela's because it is just easier for me and I purchased that S&W shield 45 on sale for $418 (tax included) plus $40 in store coupons and another $75 factory rebate on top of it all. $303.80 total with tax! ($470 regular price)

I guess it will be stock up time if these sales continue

Love it after doing a trigger job on it to get a 10 lb. trigger down to a more reasonable 5 lbs. Replaced the recoil spring with a 12 lb. spring as well. Great little gun now.

Hopefully, they have improved on them since I bought mine several years ago. They have a 9mm version out now.

That's a great price for a carry pistol with as many good reviews as the shield has.

This BHP has been serving that role lately. Diet of choice is standard pressure 147 gr. HST. No name holster is actually for the G43 but you'd never know. It has it's shortcomings compared to some of the Tupperware pieces but those are put to rest every time I shoot it.

The SP101 rides in a Simply Rugged pancake holster. Highly recommended, as are the hogue grips if you like to shoot full power loads. Woods carry is Rem. 180 SJHP, or a 358429 over 15 grains of 2400.

Thanks. My iPhone picture must really be flattering! It is a well used, beat-up, paint finished, mid-80's manufacture surplus, but a very good shooter. The grips really help out on the looks dept; they are from Altmont. Very well made, nice and slim, and extremely reasonably priced.

Wear marks do not detract from the beauty for me; a good pistol is meant to be used, same as with a Land Cruiser. That's one of many things I like about John Moses Browning's designs - form follows function.
