You know... I been thinking about that. One can pull the "until an independent unbiased lab or person tests it" thing all day, and you're right....
But at the end of the day we do know one thing. An ARB will (more than likely) break a shaft b/f it explodes... Barring breaking the other, you're still mobile
The other...You're only out a locker AND GEARS if it won't... And you've lost the whole diff and potentially getting it out and home... And that experience is worth?
And who the hell is going to build a test lab for lockers? I wouldn't wait for that day...
So everything you just said is moot. If it is a biased test everything you saw should not be taken into account. It is that simple. I'm not saying that the zip locker is as good as the ARB, I don't know that, but at the same time you don't know the other side of that coin.
Your argument of just buying the most expensive, product that has been around for years is just ridiculous. This leaves you with no competition and no way for an existing product to progress.
I love my ARBs and doubt I will be looking for a new locker in a long time..... But if for some reason I do get another 80, 60, Blazer, Bronco, Yugo... what ever, I won't rule out the zip locker unless there are tons of people out there that have actually had theirs fail like that.
