I'm trying to work out if my 2010 4.5 D-4D cruiser has KDSS so I can go about preventing the valve rust I've been reading about.

I had a quick look under my car today, but from the pictures on the forum of the KDSS valve its hard to relate to whereabouts under the car it actually is located and how big/small it is.

Is there an easy way of finding out if i have KDSS?

Thanks

You can also look at the swaybars. If they are "normal", you have no KDSS. If you have this, you have KDSS (sorry for the dark pic):

Step out of your drivers seat...then move back about three feet and look under your truck about6 inches past the inside edge of your running boards (or sliders). The photos I posted of the valve housing is right about there. It's pretty close to the edge of the underbody...

Thanks everyone. Is the location irrespective of LHD/RHD or is it always on the drivers side?

driver side on a LHD

ttt.. So what models did not come with the KDSS system? I thought all 200 series had this system.. Looked at mine and it has a regular sway bar up front. Guess I lucked out, or do peeps want this system on the 200?

all 200 series in the US come with KDSS... but i think not all in other areas, particularly Oz.

It's standard in USDM 200s. In other parts of the world, it's an option depending on trim level.

Really? My 09 LX I just bought does not have the part circled in red on the above the pic and I am in Ca... It has a regular sway bar mounted to the frame..

gonna to have another look right now

LXs have a different type of system, more electronically controlled using the AHC. Whereas the LC's KDSS is entirely mechanical.

I should have been more specific, all USDM LCs have KDSS.

Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System - Wikipedia

The Lexii do not have KDSS. They have a different suspension system called AHC.
Well that answers that, sorry bout the dumb questions, should have done a little bit more research before buying a 200.. I guess I'll be lurking around the 200 forum a lot more now days.. Thanks again guys.. Are AHC equipped 200's known to be problematic? We all heard of folks with lx470's deleting their similar ride control systems on their rigs as it can develop leaks and get expensive to fix.

i've never owned one, but from all accounts i've read here on the 200 forum, the LX570's suspension is much more robust... and i've not seen a post about a failure *during* my time hanging out here.

I have a 200series toyota landcruiser 2014 it does not have kdss .☹☹
