a little bit of work and you should be able to get your old ones working. they're usually just gummed up...clean them out with brake clean, while running them off a battery, sometimes it takes a bit to get them to spin good, but they should, then grease. if you can't get them to spin at all, find a local auto electric rebuilder.

here's what it will look like when working. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzuyG9-DsZE&feature=c4-overview&list=UUqkPzuovitjSYoNkPO8JHeQ

As nuclear lemon said they are really easy to get working. I recently dove into mine, the non electrical side was gummed up. I read a couple other threads on it and one gave great advise of not getting the break clean on the electrics as it can strip the wire varnish. I put the electric side in a ziplock and tried to keep the cleaner out of it. Some fresh lithium grease and they are good as new.

I cleaned mine and got them working but I can't seem to get them to sync properly. They seen to have a different "park" area when I turn them off.

on ours, one will park itself, the other won't so we turn it off when the one that won't gets to where we need it and let the other catch up.

Mine are both so random. I took them apart and cleaned them and they seemed to be working pretty well. But they do the weirdest things. They'll make a nice full sweep then just do about a two inch swath off to the right. Do that for a while then suddenly make a full sweep and do a couple of inches some where else. then for no reason the other one will go clear up and hit the visor when all it was doing was about 4 or 5 inches at the bottom of the sweep. The "good" one will come on for no reason if I hit a hard enough bump and then park.
