So we saw lots of ducks, but by this late in the season, they are very wary of any places in the marsh that humans can get to, so no ducks, but I think the truck looks muy mas macho with a loaded 12 gauge leaning on it! I also bought a 3 pack of BFG MTs at about 70% tread for $75!!! I know of another pair with similar wear for $100. This is awesome as every dime I save on rubber is cash that will go towards body panels and a new Bluetooth/Sirius radio and speakers.

The 4Runner looks nice with those wheels!

Is that a Winchester SXP?

Thanks. If the guy who is planning to buy my 31s comes through, I’m going to get on the body right away. It looks like crap at the moment.

Mossberg 500 series. It’s fairly basic, but came with waterfowl, turkey and rifled/picatiny barrels so you get 3 fer 1.

Picked up the first batch of MTs today. $75 well spent I’d say!

Pics: Mock up, $25 worth of tread? and shirt I coincidentally wore for the occasion. Guy had a ‘12 Rubicon. Said most of his buds drove Toyotas. I left it at that...

And if you are wondering about the plywood, it’s a necessity when you are running the TARC* system. Otherwise you end up with a messy driveway.

* TARC is the “Toyota Active Rust Control” system. Known to some nerds and dealer techs as a leaking rear main seal.

I'd be interested if they were 16's as I have my eye on running 235/85R16's

'89 Toyota truck with later (year unknown) Tacoma factory steel 15" wheels. Got rid of the dealer installed Toyota alloy wheels with big tires and went back to smaller tires. Direct fit, no spacers etc.

Why did I sell that truck.....

Nice! Did you have to run spacers?
Nope, direct bolt-on. Offset looks great, IMO. I DID need to buy the special late model lug nuts though, with the shoulder, or integral sleeve, or whatever that feature is called, so be prepared for that. I was not. Find a set of take-offs, as I bought mine new at like $4 ea, which made this less of a budget swap.

See pics for tire to fender alignment. Next to them are the 285/70/17 which will be going on soon.

All the cool kids are running Jeep take off BFG MTs! 255/70-17 are perfect on these first gens.

Never been very good at following the herd. Besides, I like the wheel size to sidewall ratio of this much better:

Those are the tires that I re-geared to run, Yoko A/T-S' in 235/85-R16.
The Jeep size looks to me like it wants to be a corner-carving mud tire. The dichotomy of that guarantees it to fail at both.

Decided to poke around in this forum since I just picked up one of these trucks, and since it came with newer OEM wheels you get to see it here. I haven't dug into it deep enough to see if it's worth registering, as my primary intended usage for it will be a motorized wheelbarrow for woodcutting. May just end up chaining it up and leaving it in low range for the rest of its life. Anyway I like the Tundra wheels on it 😊. They have pretty chewed up 10 ply 245/75R16 Dynapros on them now. Truck also has a 1 1/2" (square tube) body lift.

Looks to good to be a firewood truck unless that's some good bondo work under that paint. Cool truck.

I don't think there's any bondo in it, just a bunch of rattle can "touch up." The guy said it was an 85 and fuel injected with 222k, pics were crappy, the price was right.. I drove down an hour to get it and found an 86 with a 22r and 333k. The price got even righter when I pointed out these minor details so it came home with me. The frame still has most of the factory paint and is in really good shape, and the bedsides are still attached - oddities in these parts. It runs nice buy it's not charging, does has a new starter and a shiny newly reman'd carb. I am blown away how much easier and cheaper it is to get mini truck parts than cruiser parts. (This thing will live on a Rock Auto diet.)

Looking to add these wheels to my 90 SR5 extended cab pickup, my mechanic says they require special lugs with a longer or deeper shoulder? Has anyone else run into this issue?

There are two styles and sizes of that wheel.
15"16 shank lug or not.
When you find some, make sure you get tge luh nuts too
